The Goddess I chose was Ma'at. She was the goddess of truth, justice and harmony. In Egyptian, "ma'at" meant truth. The Egyptians believed that if Ma'at was not there, the world would be chaos. Ma'at wore an ostrich feather on her head. The feather represented truth. She was the wife of Thoth. She had eight children including Amon. She was the daughter of Ra, God of the sun. Many paintings on walls show Egyptians and other Pharaohs making offerings and praising Ma'at. Myths were told to go to the afterlife, your heart must weigh less than a feather. This feather is Ma'at's feather from her head.

When I saw the name and picture of "Ma'at",I thought it would be interesting to do. At first I did not know how to pronounce her name. A pronunciation key said (Muh-aht). Sometimes things catch me if they have a weird spelling or pronunciation. When I saw that Ma'at was goddess of truth, justice, and harmony, it reminded me of another goddess. Ma'at reminded me of Athena, the Greek goddess of war, wisdom, justice and more things.

If I could design Ma'at's temple,I would make it as big as one of the Great Pyramids, which is pretty big. I would make a sand pyramid that had her symbol on it, which was a feather. Inside, I would have golden walls with hieroglyphics on the walls explaining all the Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. At the very top of the pyramid, would be Ma'at's room. Part of the pyramid are rooms for nobles, scribes, and upper-class people. There would also be a big kitchen with a colossal variety of food. There would be a statue or two of Ma'at on each floor of the Pyramid. In the middle of the bottom floor, would be a big water fountain in a pond.
